1William and Mary 1689-94 Silver Shillings
The reign of the joint Monarchs only lasted six years until Mary’s death in 1694 and the shilling was produced for just two years 1692-1693. This coin depicts the conjoined busts of William and Mary facing right, the only coin of England that has conjoined busts. The reverse has the crowned cruciform shields representing the four nations, England, Scotland, France and Ireland and the monograms in the angles for William and Mary. A very attractive and scarce coin.
