Victoria Third Farthing

British coinage was the main currency in Malta back in Victorian times. They required lower denominations like many other colonies. The Royal Mint produced a series of third farthings from 1866-1885 to satisfy the demand. These were of course still legal tender in GB.

In very fine condition. Queen Victoria, married her Cousin, Prince Albert in 1840. Victoria was a Grandchild of George III who was succeeded by George IV but he later died which lead his brother William IV to the throne.

When William died in 1983 as he had no legitimate children, his niece, Victoria took to the throne.
