117-138 Roman Emperor Hadrian Silver Denarius
Born in Rome in A.D. 76 Hadrian was the adopted son of the Emperor Trajan, after his own father died when he was ten and just like his new father became a good and humane ruler. He constructed buildings in almost every city and here in Britain he has left the world Heritage site of Hadrian's wall, in the north of England.
The Emperor died in 138 A.D. after a twenty year rule on the whole a good and peaceful period in Roman history. He had been fighting a long illness and was eventually buried in Rome. He left the Empire in the safe hands of Antoninus Pius We are able to offer you some splendid silver denarius struck for this famous Emperor.
