This sterling silver medal sanctioned in 1902, issued to British and Imperial troops who served in the latter stages of this bloody war. There were a number of bitter engagements towards the end where the British had severe casualties.

The medal also has the 1901 and 1902 bars to decorate the orange green and white ribbon.
The Boer war with its famous battles of Mafeking and Lady smith, was one of the last close quarter confrontations, soon, within twelve years, the world would see a much more devastating and terrifying war from an unseen enemy.
