Born at Windsor Castle in 1312 he became one of the country’s greatest Monarchs. Loved and respected by both the people and the ruling class he developed into a true King of England. He cast his shadow across western Europe. The Battle of Crecy in 1346 was a great victory against the French, however, his reign was blighted by the ‘Black Death’ the plague that swept Europe killing indiscriminately.
