Banknotes released directly by the Ministry of Defence

From deep in the vaults of the M.O.D. was unearthed a quantity of uncirculated banknotes destined originally for the pay packets of our  Armed Forces of the 1950âs. All together, there are seven different notes, all of course in mint condition, printed by the security firm De La Rue. There is a £5 note (Dark Blue) and £1 (Lilac) from the second series, together with two other £1's one from the 3rd (Brown/Pink) and one from the 4th (Lilac/Green) series, plus three lower decimal values of 50p,10p and 5p from the sixth series of the 1970's.
