During the reign of Victoria we saw the introduction of the Florin, this was an attempt to start decimalisation of British Coinage in 1849. A Silver Florin is 1/10th of a pound. In 1851 a Gothic Florins was introduced and at the same time the issue of halfcrown's were temporarily suspended. The florin was issued until the start of decimalisation in 1967, however one does exist in the 1970 proof set.
