2023 1oz American Silver Eagle – $1 Coin
The 2023 American Silver Eagle is a one-ounce silver bullion coin issued by the United States Mint. It is part of the American Silver Eagle series, which has been produced annually since 1986. The 2023 release continues the tradition of featuring .999 fine silver, making it a popular choice among both investors and collectors.
Historical Background
The American Silver Eagle program was established under the Liberty Coin Act of 1985 and launched in 1986. It remains the official silver bullion coin of the United States and is widely recognized for its high silver purity, iconic design, and status as legal tender.
In 2021, the U.S. Mint introduced a new reverse design, replacing the original Heraldic Eagle design by John Mercanti. The 2023 Silver Eagle continues to feature this Type 2 reverse, designed by Emily Damstra.
