Charles III 2022 Memorial Proof or Bullion Sovereign by the Royal Mint

In honour of the extraordinary and wonderful reign of Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Mint have released a special edition memorial sovereign dated 2022, struck in bullion or proof gold. It is the first time the official coinage portrait of King Charles III features on a coin. The usual reverse of the George and Dragon has been replaced with Royal Arms illustrated by Jody Clark. The sovereign measures 22.05 mm and weights 7.98 grams and the half sovereign measures 19.3 mm and weighs 3.99 grams. The Proof sovereigns have a limited edition of 17,500 and 3,000 for the half sovereign
