Limited Edition 2009 Blue Peter 50p designed for the Olympics 2012
Back before 2009 Blue Peter held a competition to design a 50p for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. The winning design showed an athlete clearing a high jump bar. Now this is where it gets interesting, only 100,000 were issued with the date 2009 although it was released again in 2011 for the start of the Olympics. This one here was not released into circulation. This makes it less than the Kew Gardens which was a issue of 210,000. We only have 1 in stock and demand is high for this coin by 50p collectors.
Made from cupro nickel and put in a presentation card as per image. Image is of the actual coin and we did have a few difficulties with the protective covering for the coin so sorry it is not as clear as we had hoped
|Coin Weight||8 grams|
