Information
Did you know a coin has a face value otherwise they are called medallions. Not many know this but the Royal Mint has been issuing medallions since the time of James I. One was issued for his coronation in 1603 which then started a line of special occasions being marked in such away. Over the years medallions have been issued for coronations or anniversaries for Victoria 1897, Edward VII 1902, George V 1911 and 1935, as well as George VI in 1937. Demand for them is slowly increasing as collectors have realised their importance in the numismatic world. 0.925 sterling silver. In EF condition.
