The silver bullion 1oz Panda has been going strong in its present refinement since 1987 and has proved to be very popular with the collectors. However, the Panda was first released in 1983, but due to specification issues it wasn't until 1987 that the Chinese government settled on the 0.999 silver content that we see today. The size of 40 mm has always been the same and the coin now weighs 31.22 carrying one ounce of pure silver. The great thing about the Panda's are their designs.

Each year the coin is changed. All feature the image of the 'Tian Tan' or temple of heaven, which is located in Beijing on the obverse, but the Panda is changed every year to give a very rewarding collection.
